Temporary Disaster Exemption Information

Flooding

On November 18, 2025, Governor Abbott amended and renewed the July 4, 2025 disaster proclamation certifying a state of disaster for 30 counties, including Guadalupe County, based on the heavy rainfall and flooding event that began on July 2, 2025, that included heavy rainfall and flash flooding, caused widespread and severe property damage, injury, or loss of life in several counties. Guadalupe County property owners impacted by heavy rainfall or flooding may be eligible for a temporary disaster exemption for the current 2025 appraisal year. Wildfires

On August 12, 2025, Governor Abbott declared a proclamation certifying a state of disaster for 191 counties, including Guadalupe County, based on the existence of increased fire weather conditions that began on August 10, 2025, that pose an imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property. Guadalupe County property owners impacted by wildfire may be eligible for a temporary disaster exemption for the current 2025 appraisal year. Droughts

On September 19, 2025, Governor Abbott amended and renewed the July 8, 2025 disaster declaration, including Guadalupe County, based on the existence of droughts that pose an imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property in 57 counties.. Guadalupe County property owners impacted by the drought may be eligible for a temporary disaster exemption for the current 2025 appraisal year.
